About the Band

Loon is the passion project of 5 local musicians dedicated to creating sounds that are honest & dynamic. With a setlist including familiar favorites & a solid line-up of originals, we’re equipped to handle a variety of settings.

Born out of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Loon includes long-time friends, and former members of Loom River, along with the prior lead vocalist of Superdry. While there is no set definition for this project, we aim to be well rounded, up-beat, and relatable. With punchy riffs and influences from a wide array of genres, the only way to classify us…is to listen for yourself.

Jaimie - Lead Vocals

After a lifetime of casual singing, I entered the professional music scene two years ago as lead vocalist for local North Shore reggae band “Superdry”. It was quite the task getting up to speed. I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderfully talented individuals, and with time and effort, I hit the ground running. Performing with Loon has been an absolute highlight, and has often challenged me to grow into someone better than I was the day before.

My musical influences are from a wide array of genres and they include: Johnny Cash, Lisa LeBlanc, Bonnie Raitt and Kumar Fyah. Some of my favorite bands are Foxy Shazam, Raging Fyah & Father Of Peace. In my spare time I enjoy the simple things in life...like hanging out with my dog Grover, and enjoying the sunshine.

I’m forever thankful for the support of my husband Brandon, my lovely friends, and my family who always cheer me on.

Jon - Guitar

I’ve been playing guitar for twenty years. Throughout that time, I have had the opportunity to learn a wide array of skills, and develop a fine-tuned sound. Prior to Loon, I was in a band called “From Sky to Sea”. My favorite bands right now are American Football, and Owen.

Alec - Guitar

I have been playing guitar since I was twelve years old. It all started in my best friend's basement, who is now the drummer of the band "Little Oso", and the lead of a solo project "State Birds" out of Portland, Maine. Soon after learning my cowboy chords, I started playing in a band with our Bassist, Sam. With the help of his dad, we were quickly shaped into a little classic rock band. In High School I played in an emo band called "Sight for Sore Eyes" and later joined up with "From Sky to Sea" with Jon. We made 8-10 minute post-rock songs and I played an electric upright bass.

After college, I got back into the music scene and worked on a math rock project called "Hare", before starting "Loom River" in 2016. After spending most of my life writing originals, we started doing more covers and long-sets all throughout New England.

With Loon, I love bringing my favorite roots of blues/classic rock and my love for Midwest emo into our originals, and our takes on classic covers from the Beatles, all the way up to KeSha.

Torey - Drums/vocals

I’ve been playing drums for twenty years. In addition to drums, I also play the saxophone and a little guitar.

Years ago, I made an album of solo songs featuring a bunch of my musician friends. I recorded, mixed & mastered all of the songs and sang lead vocals. The music was mostly programmed synths and drums, but I also played sax, bass and guitar here and there.

Some other hobbies of mine are cycling, running and film photography. I married my wife in the summer of 2024 and we recently got our Airedale puppy, Annie in January 2025.

Sam - Bass Guitar

Hi, I’m Sam and I play bass :)
